Editorial Policy & Methodology
How we source, verify and correct what we publish
Who publishes this site
FBA Near Me is written and maintained by the FBA Near Me Logistics Team. We publish under a team byline rather than individual names, and every article follows the rules on this page. FBA Near Me is an independent directory and guide. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Amazon. “Amazon” and “FBA” are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.
Our readers are Amazon sellers who ship inventory to fulfillment centers, truck drivers and carriers who deliver to them, and 3PL or prep-center operators who stage freight in between.
Source hierarchy
When sources disagree, the higher tier wins and we say so in the text.
| Tier | Source type | How we use it |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Amazon-published documents: Seller Central help pages, fee announcements, the carrier manual, and the IPEX Scheduled Fulfillment Center Address List | Primary source for fees, rules, site codes, addresses, network type and receiving shifts. |
| 2 | Replies from Amazon staff in Seller Forums | Cited as “Amazon staff say…”. A staff reply is not a published policy, so we label it and link it. |
| 3 | Trade press: Supply Chain Dive, FreightWaves, Marketplace Pulse and similar outlets | Context, market data and independent confirmation of Tier 1 changes. |
| 4 | Practitioner reports (Reddit, trucker and seller forums) | Anecdotal. We describe them as reports and never use them alone to support a number. |
Rules every article follows
- Every fee, date, address and statistic traces to a named source, and important ones are checked against a second independent source.
- If Amazon does not publish a number, we say that it is not published. For example, Amazon publishes no site-specific transfer time for IXD facilities, so we do not give one.
- Worked examples are labeled as examples. We do not present invented figures as measurements, and we do not publish fabricated dwell times, throughput numbers or “verified” stamps.
- Each guide we publish or update under this policy shows a “Last verified” date and a Sources and Verification section at the end. Older guides are being brought up to this standard.
- Outbound links point to the original source and carry no AI tracking parameters.
Methodology for our models
Where we model something, we publish the formula and say what each input means. The inputs are yours, and the outputs are planning aids, not forecasts.
- Prime gap (see the IXD cross-dock guide):
max(0, D + T − C), where D is days to deliver to the IXD site, T is the transfer time you assume, and C is how many days of cover you hold at the destination FC. It estimates how long units sit in transfer without being Prime-eligible. - Placement-fee break-even (see the inbound placement fee guide):
X < F, where X is the extra freight cost of splitting shipments yourself and F is the placement fee you would otherwise pay. - Fee tables reproduce Amazon’s published ranges, with the effective date shown beside them.
How warehouse pages are built
- Site code, street address, network type (IXD, Sortable, Non Sort and so on) and receiving shifts come from the IPEX list updated June 20, 2025. It is a snapshot of sites that take scheduled inbound freight, not a complete registry of every Amazon building.
- “Not listed” means the site is absent from that list. It does not mean the building does not exist, and we do not guess its type.
- The IPEX list has no ZIP+4. Where our page shows a ZIP+4, it can differ from Amazon’s list and you should confirm it before dispatch.
- Pages we have not audited show only list data and carry no verification date. Narrative sections on audited pages were re-checked against the list and the sources above.
- Always confirm your delivery window and dock rules in Carrier Central. It takes priority over anything on this site.
Updates and corrections
We aim to re-check an article when Amazon changes the rules it covers, and we show the date of the last check. When we fix a factual error we describe the change in a Corrections log at the end of the article instead of editing it silently.
To report an error, use the contact page or email support@fbanearme.com. Please include the page, the claim and a source if you have one.
Advertising and independence
This site is supported by third-party advertising (see our Privacy Policy). Advertising does not decide what we publish or how we describe a facility, fee or service provider.
